Now, back to the gluten free world! Last month, Linda, a member of the South King County Gluten Intolerance Group, presented a hugely informative and entertaining talk about making gluten free bread, with many of her tips and secrets compiled over many years!
In fact, she had so much to say that the group asked her to continue her presentation another month; she will be speaking on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th!
Her talk will reveal more tips and secrets about gluten free bread making. She has in-depth knowledge about ingredients and their properties, as her mother worked professionally as a nutritional chemist.
For a special Saint Patrick's Day treat, Linda will also speak about great ways to save "green" (money) on gluten free ingredients!
For instance, in her first talk Linda mentioned that tapioca flour -- one of the ingredients often used in gluten free breads -- could be obtained more inexpensively at Asian markets. After visiting one of our local Asian markets, my boyfriend and I concluded that she was, indeed, correct.
Looking forward to it, Linda!
The talk is complimentary; the group meets at Marlene's Market in Federal Way -- just off the 320th I-5 exit -- at 6:30 p.m. SKCGIG meets the third Monday at Marlene's in Federal Way (not Tacoma), every month except July, August, and December.
