![]() At Gluten Free Safari, we aspire to all the best things that make gluten free living delectable and delightful! Whether that's a gluten free food discovery, an espresso maker, an out-of-the-way hotel, or little aids to civilized living -- such as a travel journal or camera -- we want to give you some ideas, below. ![]() There's nothing better than thumbing through a lusciously produced new cookbook: the photographs beckon, making the simplest dish of quinoa, colorful veggies or plump fruit seem simply ethereal. The production value of recent cookbooks, the sheer elegance of photography today is enough to send one to the nearest gourmet store (or the Internet) seeking that coup de grâce ingredient: think lemongrass, cherimoya, black garlic, or saffron, for instance. Even if one isn't usually much of a baker, if one turns a page and finds a photograph of a hearty gluten free scone covered with generous dollops of maple sugar icing, for instance, somehow one might find the time to bake those scones before work! (Full disclosure: I have yet to find an excellent recipe for a gluten free scone; I'm developing one at present!) Enter Diane Jacob, a full-time writing coach, author, and freelance editor. Previously a newspaper, magazine, and publishing company editor-in-chief, she has received awards for culinary writing from distinguished organizations; and, in 2013, was named the Joseph Hoare Gastronomic Writer in Residence for Canada's most prestigious cooking school: the Stratford Chef’s School. This is the first of a few different posts where I will feature cookbooks by some of Diane's clients: (she has many more than those featured here)! Most of the books are not exclusively gluten free (a few are); but I have tried to include those likely to include many gluten free recipes. I have also provided affiliate links (Amazon and perhaps others) to the cookbooks; if you click on a link and buy a book, I will receive a small commission -- and the book will be the same price for you!
